05/27/21; Week 6: Response to "Personal Space Differences"

I want to start by telling something personal about my childhood. I consider that I had a very beautiful childhood with my two brothers, we shared everything, same clothes, same toys and also we shared a room with three beds in which we talked a lot until we fell asleep. Things were like this until when I was sixteen years old, suddenly there were already things that we did not share, but we were always very close until today that we frequent a lot. We also had several friends in common who always visited my house with whom we shared as brothers.

Spaces are very important in coexistence, whether family, work or with friends and they must be established effectively so that neither interferes with the other; I am one of the people who like to enjoy the three spaces, I like to be listened to and listen very carefully to the person who speaks to me, it is like establishing a high level of respect and importance to what is dealt with at that time with that person. It has happened to me that we are with friends talking or having a good time and suddenly I speak, but they stop paying attention and the person next to me says, Hey! Do not worry I am listening to you! And you actually feel bad about not being able to finish an idea or suddenly get good advice.

A curious fact also from my time when I was in high school, the three of us went on the same bus, and it was always full at those times, because people also went to work and we actually went like sardines, but the women always got the worst of it, because they were intimidated by being pushed or touched, actually they had a hard time and I did not like watching those episodes. In my culture, people use public transport a lot, especially urban transport buses, but that has changed over time, because as my town is small, people also use taxis a lot, so generally the buses only circulate with full seats, although at the moment they are not full because students now study from home due to the pandemic.

  1. I remember those bus rides, just awful especially for young girls. So nice to hear about the time and bond you share with your brothers.
