05/28/21; Week 6: Response to "Attributional Tendencies"

I want to share with you something very personal, I can say that it is something very special, something very deep and sensitive about my life. As I shared in my previous post, I had a very beautiful childhood with my brothers and my mother, as time went by we reached adolescence and due to life circumstances my mother undertook a trip to another country and I never thought that from that moment would begin our independent adventure and survival in the real world, the life.      This adventure begins with the fact that I had just graduated from high school and wanted to enroll in the university, and I said; I am going to take a break for a year and the next I will go back to my studies, but it was not like that, that next year I got a job and I loved having my own money and being able to afford my own expenses without the help of my mom or dad, and it really took five years of working non-stop, but then I started to feel that I was stuck, that I need...

05/27/21; Week 6: Response to "Personal Space Differences"

I want to start by telling something personal about my childhood. I consider that I had a very beautiful childhood with my two brothers, we shared everything, same clothes, same toys and also we shared a room with three beds in which we talked a lot until we fell asleep. Things were like this until when I was sixteen years old, suddenly there were already things that we did not share, but we were always very close until today that we frequent a lot. We also had several friends in common who always visited my house with whom we shared as brothers.      Spaces are very important in coexistence, whether family, work or with friends and they must be established effectively so that neither interferes with the other; I am one of the people who like to enjoy the three spaces, I like to be listened to and listen very carefully to the person who speaks to me, it is like establishing a high level of respect and importance to what is dealt with at that time wit...

05/26/21; Week 6: Response to "Individualism vs Collectivism"

I have always thought that a good job is better when done as a team, but for the job to work it needs individual work for an excellent achievement of the objectives. In my own experience I have seen cases in my school in which some do more than others and even the work of others, because they do not have mastery of that task and we simply agree, because the institution moves forward as a team, that is why individualism is so necessary to that there is equity for the sake of a single objective which is the solid growth of our students.      In an educational culture, the results are astonishing when each student is given instructions and makes the most of them, individual activities are necessary for them to be autonomous and have that freedom of expression, thus managing to act by themselves. When our students have the ability to fend by themselves, they can contribute in a positive way in a collective work, taking it forward, because this makes that...

05/25/21; Week 6: Response to "Differences in Emotional Expressivity"

Emotions play an essential role in the life of human beings. Through them we express moods and feelings that show that we care about people, we also do it through details such as sending flowers, sending letters and even sending gifts that make our loved ones and other members of our circle feel good.      As part of the culture in Latin America, you can see a lot of people walking in the streets and parks holding hands and many times giving a romantic kiss in some corner, or rather everywhere, it is not just the simple fact of look forward to Valentine's Day to celebrate love and friendship.      For us Latinos expressing the emotions of joy allows us to create a good environment where we meet, it can be at home or at work, that definitely helps a lot here, but we also try to manage our emotions, because sometimes we can also express things that might offend others, that is, for instance, if I came to work by chance in life, I had a...

05/21/21; Week 05: Response to "Culture Miscommunication"

Misunderstandings are those situations that occur in different scenarios due to lack of communication. Many times they can be mild, in which those situations can be solved immediately, but sometimes the consequences can be so serious and irreparable.      I agree with what Brother Ivers mentions making reference to the Latin American culture that is correctly polychronic compared to the American culture that is monochronic in its entirety, I can also say that we are quite passionate and many times that is why we can take those situations as very personal, such as providing help, giving directions without hesitation and even talking, that is, having a good time. As everywhere there is also the other side of the coin, and it is that in my country it also happens between regions when we go to a place and ask for a direction about where we want to go and they say "Es aquisito nomás, o cerquita"   (Ecuadorian Slang to be close to) , but actual...

05/20/21; Week 5: Response to "Culture Differences Concerning Time"

It is very clear to me that there are hundreds of different cultures, even if we even belong to the same place or are from the same country or from different countries. However, we agree on some aspects if we refer to the terms polychronic and monochronic. Considering these two definitions, I have been able to realize the importance of these two aspects in the cultural sphere of our globe.      While it is true and according to Brother Ivers who recounts some of his experiences in Latin America, it is true that here we handle different kinds of relationships and that we take into account being prudent with other people so as not to hurt their feelings; It may be wrong not telling the truth at first, but it can be a way not to hurt, although I think that it is always better telling the truth. From my point of view, respect and obedience are integral virtues that the human being must apply to coexist in harmony in a very varied world in consideration ...

05/18/21; Week 5: Response to "Culture Paradigms"

Culture is a universal noun in which all the citizens of the world are involved. When we speak about culture we refer to essential aspects such as beliefs, thoughts, clothing, points of view, religion, laws and customs existing in each country. However, we do not all think the same, because the criteria are so personal that although it is true we can agree in some ways of seeing and living life. While it is true, there is a value that regulates good living in any environment in which we find ourselves and that ladies and gentlemen is called RESPECT. It is common to see that in many countries many people do things to belong to a social circle or group, and well what can I say, that is how things are handled in that country. In some countries there are words or behaviors that are considered normal and do not affect anyone, just as there are countries in which those behaviors may be very offensive and as such we must maintain composure so as not to make mistake...
